Benedicte Palko
REVIEWS

LINDESNES, MANDAL (with cellist Lluís Claret, 2004)

*Benedicte Palko made a very good appearance as a musical partner in this company. Their playing together worked perfect, and the communication between them was almost organic. Benedicte has a touch and expression that moves you, and she masters fully the piano in Andorsengaarden. (Something not everybody do).

STAVANGER AFTENBLAD (with violinist Elise Båtnes, 2003)

*…exquisite expressions

*…it is quiet in the hall, of the kind that only the most excellent sort of chamber musicians always create.

*…They are crystal-clear chamber musicians. In all long lines, phrasings, tiny details. The precision is most awake and detailed, not a note is sent between them without being caught by the other. And not a note leaves the stage unclear or shapeless, with our any reason or for no reason.

STIMULI, KRISTIANSAND (with violinist Elise Båtnes, 2003)

*…probably no challenge is to big for the violinist and the pianist Elise Båtnes and the pianist Benedicte Palko.

*…a connection in sound and energy between the two one seldom here.

*Technically the duo seems to be almost unstoppable…

*Palko plays impressivly soft and easy at the same time that the capacity of sound in the bigger parts is big and rich.

*…as an encore, finished a concert with two Norwegian musicians at an international top-level.

ADGER BLADET (with violinist Elise Båtnes, 2003)

*The clever ladies mastered fully all the complexity of the composition, and the reaction of the audience was of the highest admiration. This was music from the top shelf, and the performers one have to give ones deepest respect.

(Brahms violin sonata nr. 3)

LINDESNES, MANDAL (with violinist Elise Båtnes, 2003)

*Not only the playing-together was of an impressive precision, but the phrasings, intensity in the expression and the dynamic tensions were so well balanced that the two instruments almost worked as an organic unity.

*Both where the musicians clearly was in dialogue and where one was accompanying the other, there was a secure closeness between the two which is very seldom to experience.

BERLINGSKE TIDENE (solo)

”She knows how to make the instrument sing so the tone reaches both the hall and your mind…”

JYLLANDSPOSTEN (solo)

"…A picture was drawn of a poetic-dramatic nature with "wim and vigor" in her touch and a highly developed sense of dynamics..."

About Franz Liszt's Ballade no.2 in h-minor:

"…Overwhelming must be how to best describe the energy and the dramatically solidity in which Palko interpreted this piece…"

”…BP unfolded a strong musical performance in Franz Liszt's Totentanz. She demonstrated a technical control in the virtuoso parts with powerful sound, for thereafter to withdraw the sound to dream and poetry in the work's more introverted parts and find a singing tone.

A true romantic performance, playing on a high range of emotions and colors..."

RIGA NEWSPAPER (solo)

"...it is a proof that this musician has a great future in the world of art."

About Ravel’s Trio: “The reaction of the audience of the wonderful ensemble tactfully and skillfully led by pianist Benedicte Palko, was grateful ”bravos” and clatter of feet.”

Stavanger Aftenblad

"…Temperament and technique were perfectly brought together..."

”Palko stands out as a listening musician and appears brilliant in music making with others.”
